Physiological changes are controlled by the autonomic nervous system
Sweating is a physiological activity. When sweating while being in the sun, you cannot command skin to stop sweating. You have to hide in the shade or air conditioned space. This is because sweating is controlled by the autonomic nervous system, which is not controlled by consciousness.
In response to stimuli from the internal and external environment, the activity of the autonomic nervous system will change. When in the sun, the heat excites sympathetic nerves that induce sweating. To stop sweating, the best method is to go to the shade to reduce or stop the heat stimulation.
Acupuncture can adjust autonomic nerves
Internal and external stimuli induce physiological changes in emotion. Physiological changes exist even when the stimuli are removed; thus, it is necessary to restore the function of autonomic nervous system by other stimuli.
In China, acupuncture has been used to treat diseases for thousands of years. Inserting the needles into the body will change the stimuli to the body.
Acupuncture uses needles and not drugs; therefore, no synthetic compounds are introduced into the human body, avoiding potential side effects.
